Care for glass
Cleaning
Glass have properties to resist many chemical so cleaning glass required only some commonsense, many household item will work perfectly to remove oily or grease, there are also glass cleaner available if you want to keep you glass in top condition. Soft sponge is recommended.
Hard material
Glass is a tough material that it will not let go of one thousand of millimetre (glass have no elasticity, opposite to rubber band which will allow you to stretch and later restore to it former state),glass is a stubborn material that it will choose to either dens or break, that is why we have to pay extra care on glass and not to knock it over or drop it onto the floor.+ Never hit or drop it again hard surface
Scratching
This is a big negative as it will devalue your glass, although only diamond and a few previous gemstone have the ability to scratch, the main problem come from glass in a form of sand as it can scratch itself, our earth’s crust is largely compose of silicon material so it is better to keep your glass away from sand or outdoor unless is was design to be outdoor.
No Hot Water
Many British enjoy a hot cup of tea or coffee, but it is a very bad idea to use art glass to take a cup of hot drink, as I mention earlier on glass will not let go of a millimetre, when glass take a heat fluid ,glass particles expand a very slight little in respond to the heat unevenly ,and this will eventually build up stress until the particle starting to separated, crack and finally break. Do check out “pyrex” and “borosilicate glass/scientific glassware” they have special body to allow it to be use in oven and some toughest condition. This is the reason why we choose glass for wine.
